You’re already late. Not by days. By months (some say by years).

Shopify and Fiverr recently let the cat out of the bag.

The CEO of Fiverrs’ memo hits hard: “AI is coming for your job. Heck, it’s coming for mine too.”

No one sugarcoats this. The threat is real.

What are you telling your team?

Have you issued an AI statement?

Or are you waiting for the right moment?

Waiting is not an option.

Here’s what we see every day.

Managers avoid talking about AI. They hope it will blow over.

Newsflash, it won’t.

The CEO of Shopifys’ memo admits: “AI is here. And it’s not optional.”

This isn’t new. This is here. It’s here to stay.

So what do you do?

  • You talk.
  • You own it.
  • You get clear.

You tell your team:

What AI will change. What AI won’t touch (yet). What you’re doing to keep them safe. How you’re preparing for what comes next.

You don’t need to be an AI expert.

You do need to be a leader.

  • Your people want direction.
  • They want to hear from you.
  • They want to see action.
  • They want to know if you’re awake.

If you’ve not done it yet, start.

Here’s what we’ve learned. We’ve worked with leaders for over 20 years. We’ve seen this before. Different technology (Social media in 2009).

Same human patterns.

  • Denial.
  • Confusion.
  • Silence.
  • Then panic.

You can skip the panic.

Write your statement.

Here’s a simple guide:

  • Be direct.
  • Be honest.
  • Be brief.
  • Say you don’t have all the answers.
  • Say you’re learning.
  • Say you’re not standing still.

Your team won’t expect you to solve AI. They will expect you to name it. That’s leadership.

You don’t need to predict the future.

You need to name it.

Then you need to lead.

Ask yourself: What does your team see when they look at you?

Are you hiding?

Are you showing up?

Your memo doesn’t need to be fancy.

It needs to be real.

It needs to say:

  • “I see what’s coming.”
  • “I’m thinking about it.”
  • “I’m working on it.”

No fluff. No empty words. We’ve spent decades in learning and development. We’ve watched leaders find their footing in hard times. They always start by talking.

Now it’s your turn.

Here’s what to do next:

  • Draft a statement.
  • Share it with someone you trust.
  • Update it.
  • Share it with your team.

Don’t wait. You’re not really late for the party. You’re late for the work.

That’s the difference.

We can help.

Our workshops bring this to life.

We work with real-world examples.

  • We challenge you.
  • We guide you.
  • We don’t have all the answers.
  • We help you find your own.

The party’s already started.

Your team is waiting…
