Most of Your Problems Are Self-Inflicted
You blame the economy. You blame your upbringing. You blame bad luck.
Look closer.
Most of your failures, bad habits, and wasted time are a direct result of your own decisions. No conspiracy. No “bad hand” you were dealt. Just poor choices stacking up.
Some people ask for opportunities. Others wait. The ones who ask get ahead.
As I Discovered, You Don’t Get What You Deserve. You Get What You Negotiate.
People will pay you what you ask for, if you ask. If you don’t, they won’t.
- A promotion? Not given. Negotiated.
- A better role? Not handed out. Requested.
- More respect? Earned through action, not assumption.
How many times have you stayed silent, assuming someone would recognise your worth?
They won’t.
Bad Decisions Have a Cost
You don’t need a crisis to realise you’re heading in the wrong direction. The warning signs are always there. You ignore them.
- You take on too much and burn out.
- You tolerate poor management instead of moving on.
- You say yes to everything, leaving no time for what matters.
No external factor forced you into these choices. You did that.
If You’re Unhappy, Fix It
No one will do it for you.
- Struggling in a role? Learn new skills. Move on.
- Frustrated with your team? Set clearer expectations. Hold them accountable.
- Feel undervalued? Ask for more. If they say no, go where you’re valued.
Your biggest enemy isn’t the economy. It’s inaction.
Change is Simple. Not Easy.
Most people won’t change. Not because they can’t. Because they won’t take responsibility.
What are you avoiding right now?
What decision could you make today that would improve everything in six months?
Stop waiting.
Take control.
